Many of the rising stars in boxing will face a difficult year, but our Panel believes they will rise to the top.

Many Olympians including Joe Joyce and Josh Kelly, Anthony Fowler, Joshua Buatsi, and Joshua Buatsi have made the seamless transition to the professional game. Others will no doubt be convinced that they can steal 2019's show.

These are the experts our panel is most excited to see next year...

Johnny Nelson

Jordan Gill has been a great friend of mine. He's the sweet science behind boxing. He is not a boxer who can bang, but he is a beautiful fighter. People want bang, bang, wallop in today's world, but Jordan Gill is for those who love sweet science.

Josh Kelly, who is also technically class, is another one I like. Although he was unable to perform due to illness, this man is truly exceptional.

Matthew Macklin

Since he was born, I have been ranting about Joshua Buatsi and I won't change my mind. He's going to be a great leader. He is extremely well-trained, compact, and solid. He also picks his punches well and is very efficient.

He is the Rio 2016 pick. Every personality has an audience, so be yourself. Buatsi is humble but I love his boxing skills. He will be a sensational performer and it will be his performances that will speak for him.

David Coldwell

I'm moving away from the UK to say someone who has exploded onto the scene - Anthony Sims Jr. He is set to succeed. I like his old school skills, old-school boxing brain, and great personality. He'll be a huge star next year.

Sims Jr. has signed with Eddie Hearn, MatchroomBoxing. We're sure to see him a lot and it's going to be an entertaining journey. He's ready to take the next step. Shakur Stevenson, a well-respected amateur, is another one.

Darren Barker

Joe Cordina is the one I want to choose as my breakout stat. He's got all of the skills to get a long way.

He is already a champion of the Commonwealth, with eight fights under his belt, so I believe he will be very high up in the world rankings by 2019.

Spencer Oliver

Two people stand out to me: Josh Kelly, and Joshua Buats . Kelly is a skilled professional with all of his skills and excels at it. Kelly is supported by Adam Booth and Ryan Burnett in the gym. Everything is set for him to succeed.

Buatsi, as most people are likely to say, is one of the greatest talents in the world and has a bright future. Although we would love to see him fight Anthony Yarde, there are many other big fights for him. You need to be a star in your division, and the light-heavyweight rankings has plenty of them.
